Heavenly Headlines

May

An earthy, indulgent steady-as-you-go Taurus Sun for three weeks will be joined by Mercury from the 6th and Venus from the 15th so it could be a sensual and sensuous feast. Taurus in addition to being pampered apricates security, both emotional and financial, so will be aiming to anchor everything down to suit their needs.

Mars will be dancing to a different tune in scattered, chatty and fast-thinking Gemini as it zips around like a firefly, at times over-estimating the amount of luck it needs to fulfil ambitions. Towards mid month the steadying hand of Saturn and Pluto will balance out any excess zeal. Then Mars moves into Cancer for a few weeks ahead for an excitable mood. Cancer is water and Mars fire and fire makes water boil so it will be volatile. Luckily Venus at the same time moves into calming Taurus.

Then in the final days the Gemini Sun picks up for a light hearted mood, with plenty of variety and little chance for boredom.

April

An upfront, assertive Aries Sun for three weeks – first sign of the zodiac – should be go-ahead and impulsive. But there’ll be anchors dragging up to mid month with both Saturn and then Pluto in square.  So it’ll be stop start; with a smile of relief from the 14th when easier times come round courtesy of Jupiter turned direct in aspect to the Sun.

Venus and Mercury will quietly amble through sensitive Pisces, dreaming wonderful dreams and avoiding too much reality until into the third week, when they too shift into zippy Aries. Mercury here is outspoken and direct; Venus will be fiery, passionate though with a short attention span.

In the final days the Sun moves into steady, earthy Taurus though a lively conjunction with rebellious and inventive Uranus on the 22nd may bring a surprise or two.

Mars is unimpeded in Gemini most of the month, arguing with vigour and generally racing around; until the 27th when a square to Neptune could unpick a few plans.

OUTER PLANETS

March 2019

A dreamy, vague, drifting and daydreaming Pisces Sun will amble along until the 20th joining hands with Neptune its ruler on the 6th. Creative, spiritual but not very practical is how it will feel.  Resolutely down to earth Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn will attempt to ground decisions and actions between the 9th and 13th but it’ll be a struggle.

The major astro-news is Uranus moving into Taurus on the 6th for seven years ahead. It moved in for a brief foray last year but now it’s there for an extended run. Uranus is about innovation, upsetting the status-quo; while Taurus rules the material world, money and nature. So  radical changes in finances and in farming are likely.

Mars is in Taurus as well all month in a dreary trine to Saturn midmonth and an ultra-determined trine to Pluto a week later. So it’ll be a balancing act between the get-it-together Earth energy and the evasive Water.

In the final days the Sun zips into Aries, first sign of the zodiac, fiery, impulsive, go-ahead and upfront so it’ll be all-systems go. With Mars in communicative Gemini from the 31st lifting and lightening the mood as well.

PLANETARY ASPECTS:

1: Venus in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries – flirtatious, sudden insights into emotional relationships, romantically disruptive.

Venus into Aquarius until 26th – friendly, wants lovers to be pals, not keen on possessiveness or too much intimacy.

New Moon in Pisces – new beginnings

7: Sun in Pisces conjunct Neptune – vague, kind, elusive.

9: Sun sextile Saturn in Capricorn – down top earth, sensible, better for planning.

10: Mars in Taurus sextile Neptune – can be glamorous and bring publicity; or can be lack lustre and lacking will power.

13: Sun sextile Pluto – getting it together, over problems and forging ahead.

14: Sun square Jupiter – over confident, lazy, promise more than can deliver.

Mars trine Saturn – disciplined, persevering.

February 2019

Mars will be causing ructions in Aries for the first two weeks, kicking off with a blocked, frustrated, bad-tempered square to Pluto on the 2nd – which will have been in effect for a few days before. Then it moves towards a mid month conjunction with rebellious and uncompromising Uranus.  The Aquarius Sun till the 18th will be trying hard to spread tolerance and a few jokes around to lighten the mood. And Venus in sophisticated Capricorn will be keeping up appearances after the 3rd.

Mars moves out of over-excitable and impulsive Aries on the 14th into ultra-determined Taurus where it stays till March 31st. The mood will be less reckless, more money-minded and materialistic, emotionally possessive and jealous.

But for all that there will be a softening in the atmosphere with the sensitive, emotional, creative Pisces Sun picking up for four weeks from the 18th – soft music and candlelit suppers will soothe and smooth any rough edges.

January 2019

This is Eclipse month with a Solar Eclipse (New Moon) on the 6th and a Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) on the 21st so there will be heightened anticipation and an edgy mood about impending changes (See under Eclipses).

Even without those it would still be a testing, challenging month with the tough Saturn Pluto in Capricorn drawing closer together, bringing a need for grit and perseverance; with the tail-end of the disruptive Uranus Pluto square still in effect.

The earthy, materialistic Capricorn Sun around till the 20th will have a bumpy passage, where finances and ambitions are concerned, as it crosses discouraging Saturn on the 2nd, forms a challenging Solar Eclipse on the 6th, meets a pressured Pluto on the 11th and finally gets jolted by an unsettling Uranus on the 19th before exiting into Aquarius.

Jupiter picking up a square to Neptune towards mid month hints that high hopes will bring disappointments especially where money is concerned. Being realistic will be more sensible than staying in a bubble of false happiness.

Mars zipping into assertive, abrasive, none-too-tactful Aries from the 1st won’t help to calm the mood since it won’t respond well to the delays and slow progress of the month.

Venus in adventurous Sagittarius will attempt to lighten and liven the social mood with a few highlights to relieve tension.

The final ten days with the Aquarius Sun in place, start on a Lunar Eclipse and an irritable, slightly accident-prone Mars Saturn clash. Needing to balance opposites and maintain tact and diplomacy in the face of difficulties won’t be easy.

A small triumph on the 25th will add a touch of sparkle and enthusiasm to proceedings though the shadow of testing influences in early February will not make for a light-hearted mood.

PLANETARY ASPECTS:

1st: Mars into Aries until February 14th – straight ahead, pro-active, ambitious, argumentative.

2: Sun conjunct Saturn in Capricorn – downbeat, practical, need to unpick mistakes, face reality.

4: Mercury in Sagittarius trine Uranus – bright ideas, lively chats.

Sun sextile Neptune in Pisces – kind, dreamy, creative.

5: Mercury into Capricorn till 24th – like to see solid results from discussions, earthy, sensible, grounded.

6: Solar Eclipse in Capricorn – New Moon, requires focus and resolutions to change one area of life (See Eclipses).

Uranus direct in Aries – subtle shift, more energy for plans.

7: Venus into Sagittarius till February 3rd – wanting lovers to be friends, lighter-hearted and more adventurous socially.
